ADORATION
Fridays after 10am Mass

In 2006 the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, with the approval of the Holy See on 13th July 2006, decreed that with effect from the first Sunday of Advent 2006, three of the present Holy Days of Obligation which are Solemnities of the Lord are transferred to Sundays.  This means that the Epiphany, the Ascension of the Lord and Corpus Christi will now be celebrated on Sunday.

The current practice is retained with regard to other Holy Days of Obligation.  That is, Christmas Day, the Apostles Peter and Paul, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and All Saints will continue as at present.  With the exception of Christmas Day, the discipline in England and Wales is that when these days fall on a Saturday or Monday they are transferred to a Sunday.

The Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei in 2008 confirmed that in Roman Rite, whichever form of the liturgy is being celebrated, the Holy Days of Obligation are held in common.  Where the obligation has been transferred to the Sunday, the Epiphany of the Lord, the Ascension of the Lord and Corpus Christi, this is to be followed in both Ordinary and Extraordinary celebrations of the Mass.
