Parish Ministries
Our parish community depends on the generosity of people who give their time and talents to serve others and support the life and worship of Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers assist the Priest with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass and may also take Communion to parishioners who are sick or housebound. Appropriate preparation and training are provided.
Readers
Readers have an important role in the Liturgy of the Word, proclaiming Sacred Scripture during Mass and helping the congregation listen to and reflect upon the Word of God.
Choir & Music
Music is an important part of our worship. The choir supports the 9.30am Sunday Family Mass, while the 11.00am Sunday Mass is usually accompanied by the organ. New singers are always welcome.
Ushers & Welcomers
Our welcomers are often the first people visitors meet when they arrive at church. They offer a friendly welcome, help people find a seat and assist parishioners and visitors during Mass.
Church Cleaning
Our volunteer cleaning team helps care for the church and ensures that it remains a clean and welcoming place for worship. Even a small amount of time can make a valuable contribution.
Altar Servers
Altar serving gives both young people and adults an opportunity to take an active role in the celebration of Mass. Anyone who has made their First Holy Communion may become an Altar Server and full training is provided.
