First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion is a very special step in a child's journey of faith, as they prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.
First Holy Communion Programme
Our First Holy Communion programme is supported by our parish Catechists and is open to children who are practising their faith within the parish.
The programme helps children grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and prepares them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Who Can Register?
- Children in Year 3 and above.
- Children attending Catholic or non-Catholic schools are very welcome.
- Children should be regularly practising their faith within the parish.
- Baptismal evidence will need to be provided.
Preparing Together
The partnership between the parish and the family is an important part of a child's preparation for First Holy Communion.
Parents are asked to support their child by attending the parent meetings, bringing their child to Mass and preparation sessions, and helping them with any work they are given to complete at home.
Parent meetings are informal and non-Catholic partners are very welcome to attend.
Registration
To register your child, please complete the First Holy Communion registration form below.
If your child was baptised outside Sacred Heart of Jesus, please also provide a copy of their Baptism Certificate to the Parish Office.
