Confirmation

Confirmation is an important step in our journey of faith, strengthening us through the Holy Spirit to live as committed followers of Christ.

The Sacrament of Confirmation

Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, a baptised Catholic is strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and called to take a deeper and more active part in the life of the Church.

Confirmation is conferred through the laying on of hands and anointing with Sacred Chrism by the Archbishop or his delegate.

Who Can Join?

Our Parish Confirmation Programme is open to young people in Year 8 and above who are baptised Catholics and wish to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Candidates are encouraged to take an active part in parish life and to approach their preparation with commitment, openness and a willingness to grow in their faith.

Preparing for Confirmation

The Confirmation programme gives candidates an opportunity to explore their Catholic faith, deepen their relationship with Christ and understand more fully the gifts and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

As part of the registration process, candidates will meet with Fr Arbo and the catechist team. This provides an opportunity to get to know each candidate and support them as they begin their preparation.
