Let us express our heartfelt gratitude for their years of faithful service, professionalism and dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May the God bless them and their families abundantly.
HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF OUR ARCHDIOCESE
The Archbishop invites you to play a role in shaping the future of our Archdiocese. Please take a free copy of the Called to Bear Fruit booklet at the back of the church. He encourages everyone to reflect on the themes in it and participate in small group discussions over the coming weeks. Here's how you can get involved:

STAINED-GLASS WINDOWS PROJECT
The fundraising is ongoing. We are so blessed to have a beautiful and prayerful church thanks to our forebearers. We are grateful to several donors who have continued to support this effort.
Appeal: We need more members on the parish building committee to discuss on how to move this project forward. We would also like to hear your ideas and advice. Please contact the office, if interested.
JUBILEE 2025
The Jubilee is a special year of grace in the Catholic Church. It is a time for renewal of faith, forgiveness and reconciliation. It is a time for us to give ourselves more fully to the Lord Jesus and feel His mercy and forgiveness.
The theme of Jubilee 2025 is “pilgrims of hope”, with Pope Francis calling on the world to “fan the flame of hope that has been given us”.
How you can get involved
The Archdiocese of Southwark will be running a series of events and publishing a wide range of resources, from prayer materials to a major event in Aylesford on Saturday 7 June 2025. Keep an eye on this for updates and ways for you to take part in this special year.
GIFT AID YOUR WEEKLY OFFERING
If you are a UK Taxpayer you can gift aid your weekly offertory and the Parish will receive 25% of the amount you offer, from HMRC, at no additional cost to yourself. If you wish to sign up to gift aid, please email the office and the form will be sent to you.
ARCHBISHOP JOHN WILSON – NEW BOOK LAUNCH
Archbishop John Wilson has written a new book entitled The Romero Rosary. With introductory chapters about St Oscar Romero and the rosary, this beautiful and creative new book contains reflections on the traditional mysteries of the rosary (Joy, Light, Sorrow & Glory) and the NEW Romero Mysteries (Charity, Compassion, Mercy, Justice and Peace). The book is available from Pauline Bookshops or at www.paulineuk.org. Everyone is invited to the book launch on Wed 12 February 2025 at 6.00 for 6.30pm at Amigo Hall, adjacent St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, South London. SE1 7HY
TEA & COFFEE/ RISE ‘N’ SHINE AFTER MASS
A gentle reminder….
Could we kindly ask all Parishioners enjoying a tea or coffee and chat after Mass, to ensure that the O’Sullivan Centre is left neat and tidy after the session. We must particularly draw your attention to ensuring children are not playing around in the toilets (we have had blocked toilets due to green paper towels being put down them). Also, please note that the Playschool store room, off to the left side of the carpeted room in the O’Sullivan Centre, is out of bounds. It contains Playschool items belonging to them. Unfortunately, it cannot be locked to safeguard their belongings as it is a fire escape route, but should not be opened and entered under any other circumstances.
SAINT PETER’S PRIMARY SCHOOL NEEDS YOU!
A committee member is strategic rather than operational; members are not involved with the day to day running of a school A committee member supports and challenges the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement.

GIFT AID ON CONTACTLESS MACHINES
If you have donated via one of our contactless machines, you may have signed up for Gift Aid, if not and you are a UK Tax payer please do so, as the Parish will receive an extra 25% of the amount you have given from HMRC. Please note that if you have registered for Gift Aid on one device and then use the other device, you will be required to register for Gift Aid again. This is because each device is unfortunately because “Dona” - our machine providers, changed their banking supplier between us purchasing our first machine and then purchasing the second machine and so details input on one machine do not synchronise with the other machine.

Last year we had a very successful food bank and were able to help many families in need. This year might be even harder for some in our parish and local community. If you are able, could we ask for your generosity to be extended again this year. Any non-perishable items would be gratefully received. Please leave them in the porch.
We also have a parishioner who is visiting the homeless on the streets in Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Faversham. They are in need of toiletries, socks, scarves, sleeping bags etc. Equally, if you are struggling and in need, you can contact Fr Arbo in confidence. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Please leave any donations in the porch or in the office. |
